Lesson 308

The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing is come.

Excerpt

For, lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing is come, And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig-tree putteth forth her green figs, And the vines in blossom give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Song of Songs, the Bible’s love poem, winter is past: the flowers, the song of the turtledove and the fragrance of the vines invite us to rise up and come away. Today, look for a sign of renewal around you — a new shoot, a birdsong, a fragrance — and take a minute to savor it as an invitation to begin again.
