Lesson 169

Once the ice has melted, all the waters of the rivers enter their beds.

Excerpt

Once the ice has melted, all the waters of the rivers enter their beds, thereby providing all the animals with the element they need to quench their thirst, as it is written: “They give drink to all the beasts of the field.” Likewise, when the reign on high is established here below, all the ice melts, and all the voices here below then rise toward heaven, to give thanks for having delivered this lower world through its reign.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Zohar, just as the South wind melts the ice and gives the rivers back their waters to refresh the beasts of the field, the reign of God, when it is established here below, melts what was frozen, and all voices rise toward heaven to give thanks. Today, bring a little warmth to a relationship that has cooled — a message, a smile, an invitation — and let the ice melt gently.
