Lesson 129

He who trusts in God is able to turn his attention from worldly anxieties and devote it to doing what is right.

Excerpt

He who trusts in God is able to turn his attention from worldly anxieties and devote it to doing what is right. For, in the restfulness of his soul and the liberty of his mind, and in the diminution of his anxieties in regard to worldly affairs, he may be compared to an alchemist who knows how to turn silver into gold and brass and tin to silver.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Bahya ibn Paquda, in the Duties of the Heart, the one who trusts in God frees his mind from worries and can devote it to doing good: he is like an alchemist who turns silver into gold. Today, when a worry comes back, entrust it to God in a single sentence, then put the energy it was taking from you into a right action for someone.
