The margin of a stream, the willow’s shade, A mind inclined to song, a mistress sweet, A Cup-bearer whose cheek outshines the rose, A friend upon whose heart thy heart is laid: Oh Happy-starred! let not thine hours fleet Unvalued; may each minute as it goes Lay tribute of enjoyment at thy feet, That thou may’st live and know thy life is sweet.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Hafiz, a Persian poet, the sweetness of life lies in simple things: the bank of a stream, the shade of a willow, a song, a friend on whose heart your heart rests; do not let the hours slip by without tasting them. Today, give yourself a simple moment, near water, under a tree or with a friend, and savour it fully, without hurrying.
