O my Creator! since I entered Thy path, I have eaten Thy bread at Thy table. When anyone feeds on another’s bread, he is very grateful for it. Should I not, then, be grateful to Thee, who possessest thousands of oceans of goodness and hast abundantly nourished me with Thy bread?

✨ To meditate on today
According to Attar, after the story of a cruel man who spared his victim because he had eaten his bread, the poet turns to God: since he has walked on His path, he has eaten His bread at His table; how could he not be grateful? Today, before each meal, take a moment to give thanks for the bread you receive and for all those who made it possible.
