Lesson 329

Form is only a tool in His hands.

Excerpt

The forms of the walls and roofs of houses Know to be shadows of the architect's thought; Although stones and planks and bricks Find no entrance into the sanctuary of thought, Verily the Absolute Agent is without form, Form is only a tool in His hands. Sometimes that Formless One of His mercy Shows His face to His forms from behind the veil of Not-being, That every form may derive aid therefrom, From its perfect beauty and power.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Rumi, just as the walls of a house are the shadow of the architect’s thought, all the forms of the world come from God, the Absolute Agent, who is without form; sometimes, out of mercy, He lets His beauty appear through them to sustain them. Today, look at a familiar object or place while thinking of the intention that brought it into being, and let it remind you of the beauty of the One who gives form to all things.
