Hilal proved himself to be faithful through tribulation; for, instead of grumbling at his lot, he replied, "How is that sleep wretched which is broken by the advent of the Sun of prophecy? or how can he be called athirst on whose head is poured the water of life?"

✨ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, the Persian Sufi poet, Hilal, a humble groom who is sick and forgotten by all, receives a visit from the Prophet, “the Sun of prophecy”: instead of complaining, he says his illness is no longer wretched since it has brought him this visit, and that he cannot be thirsty, he on whom the water of life is poured. Today, faced with what weighs on you, name one source of life and kindness that keeps flowing over you, and thank God for it.
