According to Ghazali, the Persian theologian and Sufi, music and harmonies are echoes of a higher world of beauty: they remind human beings that they are connected to that world and awaken in them an emotion they cannot explain. Today, truly listen to a sound that moves you — a song, the rain, a beloved voice — and thank God for this beauty, even if you cannot explain it.
