According to Attar, a Persian Sufi poet, who gives voice here to Shaikh San’an, overwhelmed by love after fifty years of religious life, a single “atom” of love hidden deep in the heart can suddenly set everything in motion again. Today, do not despise any small spark of love in you: follow one, however tiny — an impulse of tenderness, a wish to forgive —, and let it work.
