Light waxes in the eye at the imagination of Him, But in presence of His Union it is dimmed. I stand open-mouthed in veneration of that beauty: "God is most great" is on my heart's lips every moment.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, the mere thought of the Beloved — God, loved as one loves a dear one — makes light grow in the eye, and before His beauty the heart can only whisper “God is most great.” Today, each time something beautiful stops you — a sky, a face, a piece of music —, say inwardly “God is most great,” like a wonder-filled thank-you.
