According to Attar, God is hidden in the soul as the soul is hidden in the body: invisible, He is nonetheless all that is manifest, the “Soul of the soul.” Today, as you look at a face, a tree or a cloud, say inwardly: “You are here too,” and let this hidden presence soften your gaze.
