Lesson 144

Yet hast Thou in my Being Thy own Life spun, indeed!

Excerpt

Although Thy Brightness glistens in the Sun, indeed; Yet is my Light with Thine all radiant, One, indeed! Thou mad'st of Dust all glitt'ring the circling Heavens above; Yet will with mine Thy Spirit ne'er Union shun, indeed! To Dust return the Heavens; again Heavens spring from Dust; Yet hast Thou in my Being Thy own Life spun, indeed!

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Rumi, the heavens may return to dust and be born again, but God has woven His own life into the human being: our small light shines with His in a single radiance. Today, at a moment when you feel small or worthless, place your hand on your heart and remember that God has put something of His light there; then act with that dignity.
