Excerpt

Know this proof is not to be expressed in speech, Any more than the feeling of love felt by lovers. The secret I labor to express is not revealed Save by the pallor and emaciation of my face. When the tears course down my cheeks, They are a proof of the beauty and grace of my beloved.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Rûmî in the Masnavi, inner certainty is not proved by speeches, any more than the love of lovers: it can be read on the face, and tears of emotion are the sign of the beloved’s beauty. Today, rather than explaining what you believe or what you love, show it through a tender gesture or an attentive look.
