Tukaram, Poem 3641

‘It’s this way’, ‘It’s that way’ so they cry; but both sides are crazy and senseless. Their conceit pulls them this way, and pushes them that way; but, between the two, they come to grief. There is no room left in them for patience or peace of mind; in the end, they feel the pinch of circumstances. Tuka looks on with amusement while people are boiling with excitement.
