Tukaram, Poem 2858

My own character is beyond my control;
even if I surrender it to Thee, I gain nothing.
I have found this out now, O Narayana, for the
experience of my waking hours does not agree
with my dreams. Whatever part I play, it is all
outward show; there is no inner union of me and
thee. Tuka says, There is no back or front to
truth; it is altogether the same in every part.
