Tukaram, Poem 2573

Dead men's widows may desire to marry again; they are not ashamed to fall in love. But the earlier husband and the later would be even with each other; he would carry a burden on his shoulder, a burden of death. He seems to be a second husband, but he will die as surely as the first; they are both of them rats caught in the trap of death. Tuka says, When your mind has given up such wishes, a bright light will shine before your eyes.
