Tukaram, Poem 2508

It is easy to renounce what we have never accomplished; this causes no disgust or vexation. God knows a man’s sincerity; appearances are a false measure. If a man’s heart is dwelling on what he has renounced, his pretence of renunciation is a disgrace to him. Tuka says, Consult your own heart; who else can teach you this?
