Tukaram, Poem 2507

If a man is what he pretends to be, how can it be said God is far from him? If pain overtakes a man, its source is want of principle, of consistency in his life. You may wear rosaries and mudras, but how can you reach God by appearances? Tuka says, Behold, most men are of this sort.
