Tukaram, Poem 1357

People torment me; can it be that Narayana is dead? Are we helpless orphans?
Are we like a tree that has neither bed nor trench
for water? Is not God ashamed to see us in
dread of the world? Tuka says, Is the land turned
into a Godless desert?
