Tukaram, Poem 1356

Some one, some another thing were shown
and drawn into the stream; do not thou so
with God, with this pure faith of Mine. Prosperity
crosses our path to plunder us. The sun light
draws on the deer with a semblance of water, and
then it breaks their heart. The image of money
in a glass looks like money, but it yields no satisfaction. Tuka says. Be it known to you, I am
striving hard to find your feet.
