Tukaram, Poem 1352

There is a paik who knows the fidelity required of him. With tricks and stratagems, he can keep himself safe and deceive others; he can win the day completely. He will stop any attack and leave no trace of himself; such a paik the world accounts their lord. Thus a paik makes all the world his paiks, even such as were not respected before. Tuka says, He who has paiks like these, he is a strong master amid the three worlds.
