Tukaram, Poem 984

Speech brings its own evils, but a silent man
is like a dumb post. Avoid too much and too
little, this is the wise plan; let your speech and
your silence be both appropriate. When darkness
sets in, day vanishes, and night comes on. Tuka
says, The seed lies hidden in the earth and yet it
shows itself.
