Tukaram, Poem 983

We destroy a seed and then we reap an ear of
corn; all men know this, and appreciate
small things as well as great. The gain is not
without its price; we must offer our own souls to
buy it. Tuka says, If you sacrifice your life in
battle, you gain twice as much.
