Tukaram, Poem 876

Feed dogs and pigs for their bodies, but show them respect for their souls. By so doing I have learned to sweep away “I” and “mine”; if you love the world you will be caught in the net of re-birth. Despise home, wealth and country; embrace spiritually beasts and trees. Tuka says, Let me utter neither “I” nor “mine”; those are true saints who avoid these words.
