Tukaram, Poem 75

I am a man of low degree: feeble in brain, miserable in aspect; other defects of mine too he knows; yet Vitthala has accepted me, knowing what my purpose is. Whatever I do, I seek my own true interest, so experience has taught me. Infinite bliss and joy are bestowed on my soul; he who is joy in the highest has taken my burden. Tuka says, He is proud of his name, so he puts forth his strength to save his suppliant.
