Lesson 98

They cannot tell their own from what is other men’s.

Excerpt

They are strong enough to vanquish death; humble enough to retire before all men; generous enough to give themselves away; possessing all accomplishments, they claim no knowledge. The world is their servant; liberation waits their time. They send prosperity and perfection wandering; yea, the people of Vishnu will not touch them. They look on birth and death as a dream; they cannot tell their own from what is other men’s.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, the saints, servants of Vishnu, are humble, generous to the point of giving themselves, let riches and powers pass by without clinging to them, and no longer distinguish their own good from that of others. Today, share something that belongs to you, an object, a meal or your time, with the same joy as if it were for yourself.
