Lesson 90

It is your duty to work for them, and there the matter ends.

Excerpt

Do you ask anything from your children in return for what you have given them? It is your duty to work for them, and there the matter ends. In whatever you do for a particular person, a city, or a state, assume the same attitude towards it as you have towards your children โ€” expect nothing in return.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Swami Vivekananda, we can give as parents give to their children, out of love and without claiming anything in return, and extend this attitude to everyone we help. Today, do someone a service and, if they do not thank you, smile and let the matter end there.
