Lesson 41

When all the crookedness of the heart disappears, when all its knots are cut asunder, then alone the mortal becomes immortal.

Excerpt

When all the crookedness of the heart disappears, when all its knots are cut asunder, then alone the mortal becomes immortal. This is the way. May this study bless us; may it maintain us; may it give us strength, may it become energy in us; may we not hate each other; peace unto all!

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Swami Vivekananda, who quotes the Katha-upanishad, it is when all the twists and knots of the heart, grudges, fears, clenched desires, come undone that the mortal being opens to the immortal; and the study ends with a prayer for strength, energy and peace among all. Today, find a small knot in your heart toward someone and untie it with a simple gesture: a word, a pardon, a kind thought.
