Lesson 330

Our essential nature always remains the same.

Excerpt

I do not mean that you are to go home and wilfully commit mistakes; do not misunderstand me in that way. But do not mope because of the mistakes you have committed, but know that in the end all will come out straight. It cannot be otherwise, because goodness is our nature, purity is our nature, and that nature can never be destroyed. Our essential nature always remains the same.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Swami Vivekananda, who admits to having made many mistakes himself, there is no point in tormenting ourselves over our faults: goodness and purity are our deepest nature, which nothing can destroy, and everything will come right in the end. Today, if a past mistake weighs on you again, place your hand on your heart, tell yourself "my deepest nature is good", then choose one small right action to do now.
