Lesson 290

God has grown friendly to me; He has satisfied my soul with sweet after-sweet.

Excerpt

God has grown friendly to me; He has satisfied my soul with sweet after-sweet. I have secured a prosperous harvest; the stain on my soul is gone. Sins and merits have vanished with me; by one ablution, I have wiped them off. Tuka says, My voice is purified, in Janardana who dwells in men.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, the poet-saint of Maharashtra, when God becomes our friend, the soul fills with sweetness and feels washed of every burden, as by a single bath; even the voice is purified in Janardana, a name of God who dwells in all beings. Today, speak to God as to a friend, then make sure your voice stays gentle toward every person you speak to.
