Lesson 219

In the infinite ocean of myself the world boat drifts here and there, moved by its own inner wind.

Excerpt

Janaka said: In the infinite ocean of myself the world boat drifts here and there, moved by its own inner wind. I am not put out by that. Whether the world wave of its own nature rises or disappears in the infinite ocean of myself, I neither gain nor lose anything by that.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to the Ashtavakra Gita, King Janaka discovers that his true nature is an infinite ocean: the world drifts in it like a boat, its waves rise and fall, without adding or taking anything away. Today, when facing a difficulty, picture it as a wave on an immense ocean, and breathe for a few moments in that peaceful space that welcomes it.
