Lesson 207

It sits in the shadow of love.

Excerpt

None tell me of this bird that sings within me. It is neither coloured nor colourless: it has neither form nor outline: It sits in the shadow of love. It dwells within the Unattainable, the Infinite, and the Eternal; and no one marks when it comes and goes.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Kabîr, the mystic poet of India, there is within you something like a singing bird, without form or colour, which sits in the shadow of love and dwells in the Infinite: an image of what in you is eternal and cannot be grasped. Today, the first time you hear a bird sing, stop to listen to it until the end, then turn for a moment towards that inner song that rests in love.
