Lesson 191

I am supremely peaceful and formless, and I remain as such.

Excerpt

It is in the infinite ocean of myself that the mind-creation called the world takes place. I am supremely peaceful and formless, and I remain as such. My true nature is not contained in objects, nor does any object exist in it, for it is infinite and spotless. So it is unattached, desireless and at peace, and I remain as such.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to the Ashtavakra Gita, a dialogue between the sage Ashtavakra and King Janaka, your true nature is like an infinite, peaceful ocean: the world rises and falls in it like waves, without ever disturbing it. Today, as soon as you feel agitation rising, pause for three breaths and say to yourself again: "I am peaceful, and I remain as such."
