Lesson 188

Of your mercy so instruct me that I may see Rāma with my own eyes.

Excerpt

Devotion to Rāma, O wisest of sages, is like the element of water and my soul—which is as it were a fish—how can it exist without it? Of your mercy so instruct me that I may see Rāma with my own eyes.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tulsidas, author of the Ramayana in Hindi, devotion to Rāma, the divine incarnation, is as vital to the soul as water to a fish; that is why he humbly asks a sage to help him see Him. Today, with each glass of water you drink, remember that your soul too needs its source of love, and offer it a moment of prayer or silence.
