Lesson 165

There is nothing in the world beyond the reach of those who devote their soul to the good of others.

Excerpt

Raghurati’s eyes filled with tears as he replied: “Father, it is your own good deeds that have saved you. There is nothing in the world beyond the reach of those who devote their soul to the good of others. When you pass out of the body, father, ascend to my sphere in heaven. What more can I give you? Your every wish is gratified.”

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tulsidas, when the old vulture Jatayu dies after trying to save Sita, Rama (here called Raghurati), God incarnate in the Ramayana, weeps and tells him that his own good deeds have saved him. Today, devote a moment of your day to someone else’s good, expecting nothing, and notice the peace it leaves in you.
