Lesson 74

Let all be loved for Jesus’ sake, but Jesus for His own.

Excerpt

Let all be loved for Jesus’ sake, but Jesus for His own. Jesus Christ alone is to be specially loved, for He alone is found good and faithful above all friends. For His sake and in Him let both enemies and friends be dear to thee, and pray for them all that they may all know and love Him.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Imitation of Christ, loving in Jesus makes it possible to love everyone, friends and enemies alike, and to pray for all. Today, think of someone you find hard to love and entrust them to God in a short prayer, asking Him for them what you desire for yourself.
