Lesson 61

If Jesus speaketh but a single word great is the comfort we experience.

Excerpt

When Jesus is present all is well and nothing seemeth hard, but when Jesus is not present everything is hard. When Jesus speaketh not within, our comfort is nothing worth, but if Jesus speaketh but a single word great is the comfort we experience.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Imitation of Christ, the presence of Jesus makes everything sweet and light, and a single one of His words deep in the heart is enough to bring comfort. Today, choose a short word from the Gospel (for example “I am with you always”) and repeat it inwardly in a moment of tiredness, welcoming the comfort it brings.
