If thou wilt take away the chain out of the midst of thee, and cease to stretch out the finger, and to speak that which profiteth not. When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry, and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul then shall thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noonday.

โจ To meditate on today
According to the prophet Isaiah, whoever gives up threatening gestures and hurtful words, and feeds the hungry and comforts the afflicted, sees their own night grow bright as noonday. Today, give up one harsh word you might have said, and offer instead a gesture of care or sharing: this evening, notice the light it has brought into your day.
