Lesson 221

Behold I come unto Thee, O Lord, that I may be blessed through Thy gift.

Excerpt

Behold I come unto Thee, O Lord, that I may be blessed through Thy gift, and be made joyful in Thy holy feast which Thou, O God, of Thy goodness hast prepared for the poor. Behold in Thee is all that I can and ought to desire, Thou art my salvation and redemption, my hope and strength, my honour and glory.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Imitation of Christ, the believer approaches communion as a banquet prepared by God’s tenderness for the poor, that is, for all who know they are in need. Today, before a meal, take a moment to recognize yourself as both poor and richly blessed, and say: “You are my strength and my joy.”
