✨ To meditate on today

According to the Gospel of Buddha, a king led away to be executed entrusts his last words to his son Dīghāvu: do not seek revenge (do not let resentment last, do not break off too quickly), for hatred is never appeased by hatred. Later, these words will hold back the son’s hand. Today, if the urge to pay back comes to you after a hurtful remark, hold back your answer as Dīghāvu holds back his sword, and let an hour pass before answering calmly.
