Lesson 275

Even just so, Lord, has the truth been made known to me, in many a figure, by the Blessed One.

Excerpt

Just as if a man were to set up that which is thrown down, or were to reveal that which is hidden away, or were to point out the right road to him who has gone astray, or were to bring a lamp into the darkness, so that those who have eyes can see external forms—even just so, Lord, has the truth been made known to me, in many a figure, by the Blessed One.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Mahâparinibbâna Sutta, the young Pukkusa, after listening to the Buddha, compares his teaching to a lamp brought into the darkness or to someone who puts back on the right road one who had gone astray. Today, thank (by a message or in thought) someone who once enlightened you or set you back on your way, then in turn help someone to see more clearly.
