These ideas are for review today:
[71] Only God's plan for salvation will work.
It is senseless for me to search wildly about for salvation. I have seen it in many people and in many things, but when I reached for it, it was not there. I was mistaken about where it is. I was mistaken about what it is. I will undertake no more idle seeking. Only God's plan for salvation will work. And I will rejoice because His plan can never fail.
These are some suggested forms for applying this idea specifically:
God's plan for salvation will save me from my perception of this.
This is no exception in God's plan for my salvation.
Let me perceive this only in the light of God's plan for salvation.
[72] Holding grievances is an attack on God's plan for salvation.
Holding grievances is an attempt to prove that God's plan for salvation will not work. Yet only His plan will work. By holding grievances, I am therefore excluding my only hope of salvation from my awareness. I would no longer defeat my own best interests in this insane way. I would accept God's plan for salvation, and be happy.
Specific applications for this idea might be in these forms:
I am choosing between misperception and salvation as I look on this.
If I see grounds for grievances in this, I will not see the grounds for my salvation.
This calls for salvation, not attack.
This review confronts the central conflict between two salvation plans: the ego’s and God’s. Lesson 71 declares that only God’s plan will work, every other attempt is doomed to fail. Lesson 72 goes further: holding grievances is not just a mistake, it is an active attack against God’s plan. Reviewing these two together makes you aware that you are engaged in a battle between two systems of thought, and you must choose your side.
The ego’s plan (centered on grievances) makes you seek salvation everywhere except within. God’s plan directs you inward. These two plans are incompatible. You cannot serve both masters. Lessons 71–72 ask you to see that every grievance is a choice against God. This is not a judgment, it is a clarification. When you know a grievance is an attack on your own salvation, you become more motivated to release it.
We are at Review 86 out of 10. After reviewing Lessons 61–72, only Lessons 73–80 remain, to be covered in Reviews 87–90. This Review 86 is crucial because it shows you the choice is not between neutral options, but between light and darkness. Reviews 87–90 will celebrate the light and the miracles that come from choosing God’s plan.
Practice today with these forms: “God’s plan for salvation will save me from my perception of this. This is not an exception to God’s plan for my salvation.” And: “I choose between a wrong perception and salvation by looking at this. If I see in this a cause for grievance, I will not see the cause of my salvation. This calls for salvation, not attack.” Consciously choose God in every small decision.
God’s plan cannot fail. Choosing anything else is choosing failure.
