Love, Which created me, is what I am. I seek my own identity, and ο¬nd It in these words: Love, Which created me, is what I am. Now need I seek no more. Love has prevailed. So still it waited for my coming home, that I will turn away no longer from the holy face of Christ. And what I look upon attests the truth of the identity I sought to lose, but which my Father has kept safe for me.
Father, my thanks to You for what I am; for keeping my identity untouched and sinless in the midst of all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind made up. And thanks to You for saving me from them. Amen.
Love, Which created you, is what you are
This lesson is one of the most powerful in the workbook, for it directly identifies your being with the Love that created you. "I seek my own Identity and I find it in these words: 'Love, Which created me, is what I am.'" After searching everywhere, in the world, in relationships, in possessions, in achievements, you finally find the answer where it has always been: in the recognition that you are the very Love that gave you birth. Not merely a creature loved by God, but God's Love expressing Itself as you. This is an identity that transcends all form, all name, all definition.
The lesson adds: "Now I no longer need to seek. Love has prevailed." The search is over. You no longer need to run after who you are, to prove your worth, to accumulate proof of your existence. Love has prevailed over fear, truth over illusion, certainty over doubt. "She waited so calmly for my return home that I will no longer turn away from the holy face of Christ."
The prayer of thanksgiving that ends the lesson is profound: "Father, I thank You for what I am; for keeping my Identity untouched and sinless among all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind invented. And I thank You for saving me from them." Notice the gratitude for what you are, not for what you have done.
Practice:
Today, repeat throughout the day: "Love, Which created me, is what I am." When you feel small, inadequate, or guilty, pause and contradict that thought: "No, that is not what I am. I am the Love that created me." When you feel angry or hurt, remember: "Love cannot be angry. Love cannot be hurt. I am that Love." Let this truth gradually dissolve the limited identities you have given yourself. You are greater than all the stories you have told about yourself.
You are not a human being trying to become love: you are Love seeking to remember it has never been anything else.
