Lesson 218
Lesson 218

Review (198)

I am not a body.

I am free.

For I remain as God created me.

[198] Only my condemnation injures me.

My condemnation keeps my vision dark, and through my sightless eyes I cannot see the vision of my glory. Yet today I can behold this glory, and be glad.

I am not a body.

I am free.

For I remain as God created me.

✨ Summary & practice

Condemnation blinds you, forgiveness restores your sight.

The review of lesson 198 offers you a powerful key: only your condemnation hurts you, and only your forgiveness frees you. The refrain "I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me" is the affirmation that keeps you in the light, outside the shadow of condemnation. Reviews are important because they teach you to discern the real cause of your suffering.

Lesson 198 established the fundamental law of perception: condemning imprisons, forgiving frees. The review adds a visual consequence: "My condemnation keeps my vision dark, and through my blind eyes I cannot see the vision of my glory." Condemnation does not only affect the one you condemn: it clouds your own vision.

During this review period, become aware of the direct link between the clarity of your vision and the absence of condemnation in your heart. When you feel confused, sad, or lost, examine whether there is someone you are condemning, including yourself. Condemnation is like dust on the lens of your perception: it makes everything blurry.

Practice:

Today, whenever you feel uncomfortable, dissatisfied, or in conflict, ask yourself: "Who am I condemning right now?" The answer may surprise you. Then, deliberately choose to forgive. Say in your heart: "I release this person (or this situation) from my judgment. I prefer to see clearly." Observe how peace returns and how your vision clears. You will see that condemnation and clarity cannot coexist.

Reviews are the daily exercises that strengthen the spiritual muscles of your mind, making it able to carry the light without weakening.
