Tukaram, Poem 3624

Like the whiteness of a white leper, is self-
conceited pride in knowledge. Who likes it
in the bottom of his heart? It is a loathsome sight
when we approach it. No less repulsive is a
corpse adorned for burial. Like a meal of filth,
says Tuka, are the tricks of those that remain
conscious of their bodies.
