Tukaram, Poem 3584

They know the truth, but they cannot escape
from their entanglements; their food does
not digest within them. Their souls are a dower
of egoism bestowed on them; the compassion I
have bestowed on them is wasted. These proud
creatures have but one propensity; this disposition
they openly proclaim. Tuka says, How often
must I declare it? Nothing stays in their mind.
