Tukaram, Poem 3554

This lad spent twelve years in childish games,
such as tipcat, cricket, quoits, ‘riders’,
champi, penda, khadi, éki-béeki, hamama, hum-
bari, pakavya&cha, béra, peg-tops, and kissing
peg-tops, seladérd, spinning round, stone-lifting;
thus his childhood passed, says Tuka, then came
youth, the root of pride.
