Tukaram, Poem 3551

Tell you the fruit of the Kali age; a general
confusion lies before the world. Men will call
us thorns,—such is the practice they will set up.
They will worship women, and give them liquor to
drink; any man will visit any woman he pleases.
The highest castes, to whom Vedic learning belongs,
will take flesh and strong drink. The four
castes and the eighteen sub-castes will sit and eat
in one row together. They will call this a wave
of Bhavani’s diversion; they will say that all men
are Siva embodied. This will come to pass,
I prognosticate the same; I tell you it before
I pass away. Tuka serves his teacher; mystic
powers do all bear water to his house.
