Tukaram, Poem 3433

If ‘mine’ and ‘thine’ vanish, then this burden will be lightened. There will be nothing then to do or undo, for the world is naturally pure. It is desire and the snare of illusion that have put the halter on our necks. Be ready to honour pleasure when it comes; do not moan over sorrows. If you do but utter Narayana’s name, if you count gain and loss the same, honour and dishonour, then, says Tuka, your life may truly be called pure.
