I am caught and imprisoned by the five elements; I am fast bound by the sense of self. I have tied my own neck, not knowing all the time that I was free. Why did I imagine this world was real? Why did I look on ‘Mine’ as true? I lusted after a small portion of pleasure; in the end, I brought destruction on myself. Let me now sacrifice my body, says Tuka; let me burn up the store of my past.
